Cave-in kills 5 in Sorsogon

LEGAZPI CITY Five men were buried alive when the earth they were digging caved in in Donsol, Sorsogon Thursday afternoon. A sixth man survived the tragedy.
The fatalities were identified as Joseph Morada, Danilo Marqueses, Tirso Lovendino, Jose Macinas and Ramil Pertes.
Chief Superintendent Jaime Lasar, Bicol police director, said the group was digging earth in Barangay Tres Marias to gather filling material for a private lot when the incident happened.
Upon receiving the report, police and barangay officials and volunteers from the Sorsogon Electric Cooperative II and Iglesia ni Cristo rushed to the scene.
The rescuers managed to pull out Tony Dagasuan. He was subsequently discharged from the Donsol District Hospital. Celso Amo
