CABUYAO, Laguna A security guard being eyed by the police as a suspect in the June 2 murder of a young mother and her three-year-old daughter in Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, committed suicide here last Thurday morning.
Celedonio Oliva, 37, reportedly lay on the railway tracks as a Manila-bound Philippine National Railway train was approaching.
Superintendent Cesario Valencia, Cabuyao police chief, said witnesses described Oliva as "very disturbed" when they saw him walking along the railroad tracks in Katapatan Village where he reportedly worked as a security guard.
Oliva was one of the polices suspects in the killing of Annabelle Zuñiga and her daughter Francez Erika, who were both found covered with a blanket in their house last June 2.
Zuñiga had previously accused Oliva of stealing P16,000 worth of jewelry.
Olivas relatives, however, maintained that he was a witness in the crime and not a suspect, and that he could be a victim of "salvage" (summary execution). Rene Alviar<
