Geraldez to Sandigan

Calamba, Laguna Regional Trial Court Judge Norberto Geraldez now takes his hands off the controversial rebellion case of jailed former Muslim leader Nur Misuari with his appointment to the Sandiganbayan.

President Arroyo has appointed Geraldez, 53, to fill up the slot vacated by Justice Nicodemo Ferrer who retired in late 2002. He will join Justices Gregory Ong and Rodolfo Palattao in the anti-graft court’s fourth division.

The Sandiganbayan – which has five divisions with three justices each – still has four vacancies. — Delon Porcalla
