Gov’s consultant gunned down

CALAMBA CITY — A consultant of Laguna Gov. Teresita Lazaro was gunned down past noon the other day, in what probers believe was a result of business rivalry.

A lone gunman, described as wearing a brown golf hat, dark shades and brown pants, shot Charlie Mendoza, Lazaro’s consultant for sectoral concerns, three times with a caliber .45 pistol at about 1:20 p.m. in Barangay Paciano Rizal here.

Witnesses told police that Mendoza was shot as he stood beside his owner-type jeep inside the Sanros Trucking and Junk Shop.
