Retired cop, wife survive grenade blast

CABANATUAN CITY A retired police colonel and his wife cheated death when motorcycle-riding men tossed a handgrenade into their house here last Thursday, police said.
Senior Superintendent Luisito Palmera, Nueva Ecija police director, said lawyer Carlito Inton, 56, and his wife, Dolores, were asleep when the grenade was hurled at their residence in Barangay Barrera at about 1:15 a.m.
Palmera said witnesses saw two men riding in an unlicensed red Suzuki motorcycle pass by the Intons house.
