NBI to probe Tacloban slay

TACLOBAN CITY — Justice Secretary Simeon Datumanong has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to step into last week’s killing of the son and namesake of the city’s legal officer upon the request of the victim’s family.

Chief Superintendent Dionisio Coloma Jr., regional police director, has formally turned over all vital evidence recovered at the crime scene to the NBI regional office headed by Salvador Rañin.

The victim, Godofredo Quimsing Jr., was gunned down while inside his parked car near the Tacloban Sports Complex last Feb. 24. His male companion was unhurt. — Miriam Garcia Desacada
