500 kgs. of nitro seized in Batangas

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced the discovery Friday afternoon of 500 kilos of ammunion nitrate, a key ingredient in the manufacture of powerful explosives, in Batangas City port.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Magtibay, Batangas provincial police director, said an investigation is still underway to identify the shipper of the explosive substance.
Police agents from the PNP-Maritime Group led by Inspector Leonardo Maramot were conducting routine preventive patrol in the port located at Barangay Sta. Clara, Batangas City when they chanced upon at least 10 boxes of abandoned cargo at the said place, Magtibay said. Jaime Laude
