DSWD: No role in Tarlac project

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has denied any knowledge nor involvement in a controversial Tarlac housing project which Interior and Local Government Secretary Jose Lina has ordered investigated.
In a letter to The STAR, Social Welfare Undersecretary Luwalhati Pablo said Florita Villar, director of the DSWDs Field Office III, has informed them that the housing project was an undertaking of the Bamban, Tarlac municipal government and not the DSWDs.
"(The DSWD), particularly our office in Region III, has no knowledge of nor involvement in the construction of the project named GMA-Department of Social Welfare and Development Core Housing Project located in Dapdap, Bamban, Tarlac," Pablo said.
