3 killed as Jaguar collides with bus

SISON, Pangasinan — Three persons, including a multi-millionaire bank owner, were killed, and another one injured when the Jaguar Sovereign car they were riding sideswiped a Kia van then collided with a Dominion passenger bus along the national highway in this town on Dec. 26.

Police Supt. Alfredo Bascao, police chief identified the fatalities as Emilia Sta. Cruz Hermoso, 79, her daughter Elizabeth, 39 and their driver Liberato Pajarito Esquera, 27, all of Meycauayan, Bulacan.

Another Jaguar car passenger, Ely Aquino Dominon, 31, helper of the Hermosos was also confined at the Rosario Emergency Hospital in Rosario, La Union where they were rushed for treatment.

Emilia Hermoso was the owner of Liberty Bank in Meycauayan, Bulacan.

PO3 Ildefonso Diolazo, one of the two police officers who immediately went to the accident area, said that the dark green Jaguar Sovereign car apparently had a mechanical trouble as it was traveling in a zigzag fashion prior to bumping the Kia van.

The timely response of the police elements led to the security of the area from looters and the cash and jewelry brought by the victims were worth millions of pesos were properly turned over to the relatives of the Hermosos.

The jewelry alone worn by the victims were estimated at a million pesos while the cash money was about P10 million. Eva de Leon
