Seven overstaying Chinese nationals were rounded up in Cagayan de Oro City Monday in line with the governments ongoing crackdown against illegal aliens.
Belated reports reaching Camp Crame yesterday identified the arrested Chinese nationals as Kenneth Go, 36; Asin Sia, 39; Xu Yali, 19; Peter Yao, 22; Tian Shuan, 47; Xu Kong Que, 21; and Ling Ya Guo, 39, all of China.
Most of the suspects were found to be engaged in business and trade in the citys commercial centers. They failed to present valid travel documents to allow them to further stay in the country.
BID agent Gerardo Gorospe, who headed the crackdown against illegal aliens in the city, said the suspects will be charged with violation of the countrys immigration laws.
Gorospe added that the suspects would be transferred from Cagayan de Oro City to the BID headquarters in Manila for further legal action against them. Jaime Laude
