Superintendent Felicisimo Khu Jr. admitted during the City Council session this week that their metal detectors are "outdated" and "unreliable" since they can’t detect plastic explosives, which are now used by bombers. He also implied that easing traffic congestion in the city’s main streets is more important than securing the city from terrorists and bombers.
He said they would only aggravate the traffic jam in the city if they tighten the city’s security through patrols in reply to Vice Mayor John Elizaga comment about the apparent loose security COCPO is implementing in the city. However, Khu tried to save face by disclosing that since their metal detectors are "outdated" and "unreliable," they have deployed three K-9s to sniff out bombs and other explosive devices that so-called enemies of the State might try to sneak inside the city.
