Addict kills 3 tanods

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga A man allegedly under influence of prohibited drugs last Friday indiscriminately fired his gun inside Barangay Culianim cemetery in Plaridel, Bulacan, killing three barangay tanods.
In a belated report here, Sr. Supt. Felizardo Serafio, Bulacan police director, identified the fatalities as Rogelio Fuentes, 60, Danilo Fuentes, 60, and Marcial Manlapig, 73, all of Barangay Culianin and members of bantay bayan.
Serafio reported that the three victims were performing their duty inside the cemetery when the suspect a certain Benedicto Leonardo, 43, arrived and without apparent reason fired his caliber .38 revolver.
The three tanods were hit and were rushed to nearby hospital but expired while under treatment, the report said.
Several persons who witnessed the incident attacked and mauled the suspect, police said. The suspect was also rushed to a hospital due to severe physical injuries sustained from his attackers. Ric Sapnu
