NPAs slay barangay head in Tarlac

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga A barangay captain was gunned down by three suspected members of the New Peoples Army (NPA) in San Jose, Tarlac, Saturday.
Sr. Supt. Mario Sandiego, Tarlac, police director, identified the fatality as Domingo Gonzales, barangay chairman of Sula, San Jose town.
The victim, together with his wife and seven others, was drying palay at Barangay Iba, San Jose town when the suspects suddenly appeared and shot him at close range.
Gonzalez was brought immediately at the Central Luzon Doctors Hospital in Tarlac City but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians, police said. Ric Sapnu
