USAF retiree nabbed for ‘abusing’ 7 boys

A 73-year-old retired US Air Force soldier is now behind bars on charges that he allegedly sexually molested seven boys aged seven to 12.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested suspect Anthony Proud in his house at Meadowood Subdivision in Bacoor, Cavite yesterday morning.

Proud denied the charges when confronted with his alleged victims.

Danielito Lalusis, head agent of the NBI’s Cavite office, said the seven boys, in their sworn statements, said Proud befriended them as he jogged around the neighborhood.

Proud, they alleged, would then invite them to his house where he would ask them to massage him, fondle his sex organ and perform fellatio on him. He would then allegedly give each boy P20.

The boys’ parents learned about the alleged sexual abuses, and then sought the NBI’s assistance.

Seized from Proud’s home were several pornographic videotapes and adult magazines.

Proud, the NBI said, stayed in the Philippines for 36 years while serving at the former US Air Force Base in Clark Field, Pampanga.

After his retirement, he would occasionally visit the country on a special retiree’s resident visa.

Detained at the NBI detention cell, the American is facing charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
