PDIC processing claims of All Asia Bank depositors

DAVAO CITY The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) started yesterday the processing and payment of claims of thousands of depositors of the All Asia Bank Corp. which stopped operating last month.
The depositors were caught by surprise when the bank was suddenly shut down last month due to reported lack of required capital to further operate.
Being processed are the claims of insured All Asia Bank depositors in Buhangin, Davao City; and in the cities of Digos, Tagum, General Santos and Koronadal.
The PDIC has designated sites where depositors can go to during office hours. Processing of claims are ongoing until Sept. 24 at the All Asia Banks head office on San Pedro street here; until Sept. 24, at the Digos, Koronadal and Tagum branches; and until Sept. 13, at the Buhangin and General Santos branches.
For their claims to be processed, depositors need to present their savings passbook, certificate of time deposit, ATM card and/or latest bank statement and unused checkbooks.
Depositors are also advised to bring two latest identification cards or documents bearing their specimen signature. Edith Regalado
