MALOLOS, Bulacan — A Caloocan City policeman is facing a murder complaint for the fatal shooting of a 60-year-old man in Barangay Frances, Calumpit Sunday night.

The policeman’s two sisters who were both employees at the Bulacan Regional Trial Court were also brought to the Calumpit police station after they were charged for obstruction of justice, Chief Inspector Noli Pacheco, Calumpit police chief said in his report to Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Edgardo Acuña.

The victim, Ernesto Bernardo Borja, 60, died from gunshot wounds in the left lower chest and right underarm inflicted by SPO1 Nelson Ombao Mundo, 40, Station 1 of the Caloocan City police at the Bulacan Provincial Hospital here.

Pacheco said Ombao entered the victim’s residence that angered the latter. A heated argument ensued and it was during their verbal tussle that the lawman shot the sexagenarian with his .38 caliber revolver.

Pacheco said a complaint for obstruction of justice will also be filed against Ombao’s two sisters, Dalisay Satiano Ombao, 42 and Marieta Swing Ombao, 29. The sisters made every effort to prevent the police from arresting the policeman who took refuge at their residence, also in Barangay Frances, Pacheco said.
