Alleged jueteng lord as neighbor?

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga Some homeowners of a first-class subdivision here are worried that an alleged jueteng financier would transfer to their community and become their neighbor.
"Were worried about the possible effect of (his) presence to peace and order in our neighborhood," said a resident of St. Dominic Subdivision in Barangay San Agustin here.
The homeowner, who asked not to be identified, was referring to Melchor Caluag, alias Ngongo, who was arrested last week on illegal gambling charges but is out on bail.
A source said Caluag plans to build a mansion in the village whose homeowners include businessmen, professionals and public officials like board member Robert David and former third district Rep. Mars Pineda.
The homeowners, the source, are mulling legal options to stop Caluags reported plan.
Caluag trounced eight rivals in the recent election in Barangay Dolores here. He ran for city councilor in 2001 but lost. Ric Sapnu
