DAVAO CITY Five inmates bolted the municipal jail in remote Malita town in Davao del Sur at dawn Monday. One of them was later recaptured while visiting his relatives.
A belated report to Camp Caitipan, the regional police headquarters, identified the escapees as Dionisio Culas, Doydoy Latang, Dondon Enriquez, Manuel Balco and Gordon Congo, who was re-arrested in Barangay Bulila.
The five are facing charges of theft, murder, cattle rustling and robbery with attempted homicide.
Police believe that the four who are still at-large could not have gotten far from Malita yet. Edith Regalado
