GSIS earmarks P404 M for loans

Government employees are now entitled to receive emergency loans of up to P10,000 during calamities, starting with those affected by typhoons Gloria, Hambalos and Inday that hit several parts of Luzon recently.
Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) president and general manager Winston Garcia said the GSIS Board has approved a P404-million budget for the grant of emergency loans to members who work and reside in Tarlac, Malabon, Valenzuela and Rizal.
The GSIS has effectively increased emergency loans to members from P8,000 to P10,000 each.
