PCGG Commissioner Ruben Carranza, however, could not give an estimate how much the assets, found under the name of Vilma Bautista, are worth.
"How much is involved, we still dont know. But they are substantial accounts," he said.
The PCGG stumbled upon Bautistas records while reviewing documents and other evidence in the agencys possession.
Carranza could not say why former PCGG officials failed to file cases involving the assets.
"We believe that the assets belong to the Marcoses. Bautista could not have earned them with her salary," he said.
Bautista was a foreign service officer from 1968 to 1986. She reportedly acted as Mrs. Marcos social secretary.
She has a pending forfeiture case in the Sandiganbayan, along with Fe Roa, former secretary of former Energy Minister Geronimo Velasco. Sheila Crisostomo
