DAVAO CITY At least 311 pupils from several public schools here were hospitalized yesterday morning after eating expired chocolate and fruit-flavored jelly candies sold to them by enterprising garbage collectors.
Vice Mayor Luis Bonguyan said the children apparently could not resist the candies because the garbage collectors sold them at P2 apiece.
The affected pupils come from schools in Barangays Sasa, Bunawan, Buhangin, Ma-a, Mintal, Tugbok and Magallanes. Edith Regalado
