Probe on NPA extortion urged

Transportation and Communications Secretary Pantaleon Alvarez called yesterday on the police to look into the complaints of provincial bus operators on the extortion activities of the New Peoples Army.
"The unhampered operation of these bus firms is a primary concern of our law enforcers," he said, citing reports that the NPA demands each bus company to pay at least P10 million every three months. Sheila Crisostomo
