DAVAO CITY A former director of the Davao Penal Colony (Dapecol) has accused the chief of the Bureau of Corrections of having falsified public documents by indicating different dates of birth in two sets of documents.
Former Dapecol head Alfredo Gozon, now assigned to the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City, presented his allegations against Ricardo Macala in a letter to Executive Secretary Alberto Romulo.
Gozon, however, said he would file a complaint against Macala to set the record straight.
He claimed that Macala stated in a certificate of candidacy he filed with the Commission on Elections on March 26, 1988 that he was born on April 3, 1935.
This, however, differed, according to Gozon, to a personal data sheet Macala submitted on Oct. 6, 1999 to the mayors office of Lipa City, Batangas where he stated that he was born on April 3, 1939.
Gozon claimed that under civil service rules, Macala is overage, thus he should be disqualified from his position.
