Confessed rapist blames it on tuba

DAVAO CITY — "It is when I am drunk from tuba that I think of such things."

Thus confessed 36-year-old Ricardo Lamberte who was arrested Saturday after abducting and raping two eight-year-old girls three days earlier.

Lamberte admitted having sexually molested at least five children, the oldest of whom, he said, was a 12-year-old.

Police said Lamberte, a resident of Barangay 21-C here, snatched the two eight-year-old girls, along with a seven-year-old boy, at about 11:30 a.m. last Jan. 23 at the premises of the Agro Foundation College at Ecoland along Quimpo Boulevard.

He later dumped the boy at a waiting shed in a subdivision a few kilometers from the Agro compound and brought the girls to Barangay Mintal where he sexually molested them.

Lamberte reportedly returned the girls to Ecoland after keeping them for two days.

The heinous crime and investigation section of the city police is readying charges against Lamberte. Police expect his other victims to surface.
