CEBU CITY Three people were killed in violent incidents Sunday but this did not alter the official police assessment that the feast of the Sto. Niño and the Sinulog festival were generally peaceful.
The fatalities were identified as Jose Rannie Sinanggolo, who figured in a shooting incident, and a Maximo Berang and an unidentified man who were both stabbed dead. All incidents occurred past midnight.
Three others, Joselito Villahermosa, Renato Dicdican and Cris Manayaga, also figured in stabbing incidents but survived.
Despite these incidents, police regional director Avelino Razon Jr. assessed the entire celebration as "generally peaceful." Freeman News Service
