DAGUPAN CITY AGCO (Pangasinan word for reject), a civil-society group that led Pangasinanís campaign to oust former President Joseph Estrada, will hold "EDSA 2: Lest we forget" on Jan. 18 at the Dagupan City Museum to commemorate the historic event.
Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, AGCO chairman said: "This will be a day to commemorate EDSA 2 and renew our commitment to the ideals and causes it symbolizes."
AGCO-Pangasian led thousands of Pangasinenses in a three-day militant mass action highlighted by noise barrages, street barricades and march-rallies in support of a EDSA 2 which was being held in Manila.
"While EDSA 2 ushered in significant political and social changes, foremost of which is a new administration, the nationwide struggle for truth, justice and peace continues as the true legacy of EDSA 2." Cruz, former president of Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, said.
AGCO secretary-general Daimer Cruz announced that an exhibit of photographs and other memorabilia of EDSA 2 will be unveiled on Jan. 18.
An audio-visual presentation of AGCOs history will also be shown to the participants during the program at the city museum.
