Espinosa slay suspect now under WPP

MASBATE CITY – Police said the principal witness in the slaying of City Mayor Moises Espinosa Jr. is now under the witness protection program (WPP) of the government.

Supt. Antonio Enteria, Masbate police director, disclosed that Rolly Ogaya, one of the suspects in the Espinosa killing, has been accepted under the witness protection program of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ogaya, an inmate of the provincial jail, has implicated Charlie Quidato, the former provincial warden, and brother Isagani Quidato, former provincial jailguard, as the triggermen in the killing of Espinosa on Aug. 10 last year in Barangay Bantigue during a barangay fiesta.

Three other persons died from stray bullets.

Enteria, head of Task Force Espinosa, said that under the program, Ogaya will be given a monthly allowance, a safehouse and police security.

Already behind bars are Ramil Acque, Ronald Boncaras, and provincial inmates Albert Choy and Alex Alteza.

They were charged with multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder in the provincial prosecutor’s office. Celso Amo
