Air Macau to land at Clark

-
The Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA), formerly the Clark international airport, will be a new point of destination for Air Macau, the designated flag carrier of the Macau Special Administrative Region.

Transportation and Communications Secretary Pantaleon Alvarez revealed this after the signing of an amendment to the air agreement between the Philippines and Macau SAR.

He said Macau was asking for two additional points of destinations.

"Instead of giving them two, we agreed to grant them three additional points of destinations with specific mention of DMIA as one of them," he said.

"We also agreed to increased seat capacity from 550 seats per week to 850 seats. However, the additional 300 seats will be utilized for destinations other than Metro Manila," he added.

"This, we believe, is our best effort to complement the strides of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) toward the full development of DMIA," Alvarez said.

He reiterated that the Department of Transportation and Communications is throwing its full support behind the BCDA’s plan to develop DMIA.

Before the amendment to the air agreement, Air Macau had scheduled flights to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) only.
