The Philam Foundation and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) launched the Aid for Basilan Children (ABC) fund drive in a press conference at the Philam Life building in Manila the other day.
Philam Foundation chairman Jose Cuisia Jr. said the fund drive aims to raise funds for educational support for the children of Basilan.
"With the donations, we will be able to provide the children with school materials, nutritious meals and transportation fare to go to their schools," he said.
The campaign to restore peace and order in Basilan has taken its toll on the lives, homes and livelihood of those who live there. PBSP executive director Gil Salazar said that amid this hostile environment, the children are the ones who suffer the most.
Interested parties may send their donations to the Philam Foundation through the nearest business centers or branch offices of the Philam Group of Companies (Philamlife, Philam Insurance, Philam Care, Philam Plans, Philam Savings Bank, Philam Asset Management, Philam Properties and AIG Credit Card Company Phils. Inc.) or at the ABC Fund Drive booth, ground floor, Glorietta 2, Ayala Center, Makati City. For more information, log on to www.ephilam.com.
