Businessmen in Mabitac, Laguna have put up a P1.5-million reward for information leading to the arrest of the killers of their former mayor, Bernardo Sarayot, last month.
Newly installed Mabitac Mayor Apollo Aguilar said in a press conference in Manila yesterday that P300,000 of the reward will be offered for the arrest of the alleged triggerman, Luisito San Juan.
San Juan was also implicated in the killing of human rights lawyer Clarence Agarao.
Of the reward, P200,000, meanwhile, will be offered for the arrest of another suspect, a certain Edgar Ramos, who reportedly accompanied arrested suspects Edwin Librea and Donato Bulasag to the ambush site.
Sarayot and his bodyguard, Gabriel Fuentes, were ambushed in Antipolo, Rizal while on their way to Laguna last month.
A policeman, SPO2 Eduardo Senia of Teresa, Rizal, was also killed by the ambushers when he attempted to help the victims. Nestor Etolle
