The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is poised to charge teen actor Vandolph Quizon for driving without a license when he and his girlfriend met an accident along the national highway in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan last Monday.
"Based on our records, no drivers license has been issued to him...The LTO does not issue a license to minors or those below 18 years old like Vandolph," LTO chairman Edgardo Abenina said.
Vandolph and his girlfriend Eccie Alquiza, both 16, were critically injured when the Ford F-150 he was driving rammed an Isuzu Elf truck while trying to overtake a slow-moving vehicle.
The two was accompanied by a driver, Allan Araza, but Vandolph reportedly took the steering wheel from him. They were en route to Baguio City when they met the accident.
Vandolphs stepfather, Parañaque Mayor Joey Marquez, said his stepson and Alquiza were supposed to be in school when the accident took place.
Both Vandolph and his girlfriend are in critical condition. The actor reportedly suffered multiple fractures in his hips, right arm and right leg.
Abenina said charges may also be filed against Vandolphs driver for allowing a minor to drive. Sheila Crisostomo
