Central Visayas police official probed on alleged anomalies

CEBU CITY — Regional police director Avelino Razon Jr. has ordered his command’s personnel division chief investigated on allegations hurled against him by a supervisor of an arrastre firm.

Mario Estoce threw the book at Superintendent Napoleon Sesante early this week, accusing him of carrying on a relationship with a married woman, selling arms to communist rebels, coddling drug lords, shortchanging his men of gasoline allocations and lusting for control of the arrastre firm where he (Estoce) works.

Sesante denied the allegations and plans to sue Estoce. He, however, declined to comment further, except saying that he would not have become what he is now if the allegations against him were true.

Razon admitted that the allegations were serious, thus warranting an investigation.

Estoce, however, is not a whistle-blower without an axe to grind against Sesante.

He was arrested early this week on a court warrant for alleged theft of a water meter. He suspects that Sesante trumped up the charge against him.

Estoce also suspects that Sesante was behind the planting of shabu and a gun in his Multicab at the time of his arrest. — Freeman News Service
