Toothache leads man to kill busy housewife

AGLIPAY, Quirino – Because of a mere toothache, a farmer here hacked his wife dead.

Joaquin Ambojnon, 52, killed over the weekend his 49-year old wife by hacking her several times after she failed to immediately buy medicine for his toothache that bugged him overnight.

According to police reports, the suspect told his wife, Betty, to get medicine at a nearby store or from neighbors while grimacing in pain from a toothache which also resulted in the swelling of his gums.

But the victim did not immediately comply as she was busy doing the early morning household chores. Apparently because of the extreme pain aggravated by his feeling of being ignored, the suspect lost his temper, grabbed a bolo and then hacked his wife.

Superintendent Rodolfo Tutaan, provincial police director, said that the wife was declared dead on arrival at the Quirino General Hospital in Cabarroguis. – Charlie Lagasca
