Cop dead in NPA attack

Some 30 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels attacked a police detachment in Pagbilao, Que—zon yesterday, killing a policeman and wounding another.

The rebels withdrew, leaving behind the body of an amazon, after responding police and Army troopers, on board a helicopter and a V-150 armored car, arrived some 15 minutes after they staged the attack.

Police said the rebels arrived on board a dump truck in front of the police detachment in Barangay Talipan, Pagbilao at about 4:30 p.m. Although outnumbered, the six policemen manning the detachment bravely fought back.

Killed was a certain SPO1 Oreli and wounded was one SPO1 Sario. — Non Alquitran
