This was revealed by Restituto Gabisan, chief of the citys fire prevention and inspection division, who added that there are at least 10 high-rise structures here that are also not complying with safety regulations.
Gabisan identified some of them as the Paray building on Natalio Bacalso Avenue, where the regional office of the National Police Commission is located; the Sanchez building on Sanciangko street, Cebu Eastern College on D. Jakosalem street and the J. King building on Magallanes street.
Gabisan said his recommendation that fire exits be constructed at the upper floors of the four-story City Hall building a long time ago fell on deaf ears and has not been acted upon until now. Freeman News Service
