Comelec completes plebiscite count today

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to wind up the canvassing of results of the plebiscite on the proposed expanded Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao today.

The National Plebiscite Board of Canvassers said only the plebiscite results in Zamboanga del Norte and Palawan are left to be canvassed.

The "No" vote still led in yesterday’s partial count:

• North Cotabato — 167,531 No votes versus 16,603 Yes votes;

• Sultan Kudarat — 112,580 No; 4,173 Yes;

• Tacurong City — 19,076 No; 187 Yes;

• Davao del Sur — 129,695 No; 3,074 Yes;

• Digos City — 30,176 No; 523 Yes;

• Zamboanga del Sur — 163,628 No; 4,761 Yes;

• Pagadian City — 31,846 No; 636 Yes;

• Tawi-Tawi — 13,363 No; 44,159 Yes;

• Cotabato City — 16,075 No; 9,361 Yes; and

• Sulu — 11,759 No; 76,549 Yes.

The results in the rest of the 15 provinces and 14 cities covered by the plebiscite, have been fully canvassed.

At present, the ARMM is composed of only four provinces — Sulu, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Tawi-Tawi. Sandy Araneta
