Man hacks wife dead, but fails in suicide try

A 21-year-old woman was hacked dead by her husband, who later tried to commit suicide early this week in Sitio Malabago in Barangay Iliw-iliw, Burgos, Pangasinan.

Police identified the fatality who succumbed to 16 hack wounds in different parts of her body as Maribel Rosete.

The suspect who tried to commit suicide after hacking his wife was identified as Marvin Rosete of Barangay Gais-Guipe, Dasol.

The victim was reportedly crying for help from her mother as she was being hacked by her husband.

After hacking his wife, the suspect tried to commit suicide. He was prevented and rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital (WPDH) in Alaminos City for further treatment.
