Compostela gov’s convoy ambushed; 1 dead, 4 hurt

DAVAO CITY — A policeman was killed and four others were wounded when suspected communist rebels ambushed the convoy of Compostela Valley Gov. Jose Caballero yesterday afternoon.

Reports said Caballero’s group had come from the inauguration of a road linking Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental in Cateel town when they were waylaid in Barangay Ngan in Compostela town at about 3 p.m.
