Osmeña wants PCGG abolished

Two days after Malacañang announced the appointment of Haydee Yorac as Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) chief, Sen. Serge Osmeña III said yesterday he has filed a bill seeking to abolish the body and transferring its functions to the justice department.
"Fifteen years after its creation, the PCGG has produced little by way of accomplishments and actual results to justify its continued existence. The vast discretionary powers vested in the PCGG constitute dangerous opportunities for misuse of power and authority," Osmeña said. Aurea Calica
