5-year-old girl, 2 others massacred by houseboys

CABANATUAN CITY — Three persons, including a five-year-old girl, were massacred by their own houseboys here last Sunday night, police said.

Senior Superintendent Raul Bacalzo, provincial police director, identified the victims as businessman George Remperas, 35; Myrin Dig Bote, 5, both of Barangay Zulueta; and Rachel Busalpa, 19, of Barangay Concepcion.

One of the suspects, Eduardo Poster, 20, was cornered by responding policemen, while the other, Angelito Graciano, 26, managed to escape aboard Remperas’ Nissan Pathfinder, and is now the subject of a manhunt. The vehicle was later found abandoned along the Circumferential Road in this city.

The two suspects, both natives of Davao del Sur, worked as houseboys in the Remperas residence.

Senior Inspector Sidney Villaflor, officer-on-case, said the killings occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday after Remperas had a shouting match with the two houseboys who later bludgeoned him to death with a wooden bar.

The suspects then went after Bote and Busalpa who were at the second floor and clubbed them repeatedly.

Surprisingly, the suspects spared Myrna, Remperas’ live-in partner, whom they merely tied up. They ransacked her room of cash and jewelry.

Police have filed charges of robbery with multiple homicide against the suspects with the city prosecutor’s office.
