1 dies, 10 hurt as aircon bus falls into Bicol ravine

LEGAZPI CITY  A 27-year-old woman from Paracale was killed while 10 other passengers were injured when an airconditioned bus fell into a ravine while cruising along the national highway in Labo town, Camarines Norte Friday.
The lone fatality, Avila Bracero of Barangay Mangcasag died on the spot when a Philtranco passenger bus with plate number EVH 895 fell into a 30-foot ravine in Barangay Ganglit at about 3p.m. Friday.
Reports did not mention the cause of the accident, the driver, Alex Palmero, 36, from San Roque, Paracale town, Camarines Norte personally surrendered at the Labo police station after the incident.
Three hours later, 21 passengers of a southbound Dominguiano Tours bus were injured, some seriously, when it was hit by a train while crossing the railway in Barangay Paloyon in Nabua town, Camarines Sur Friday evening.
Probers said the airconditioned bus with plate number AVE-992 driven by a certain Jerly was hit by a speeding train at about 6:10 p.m. Friday.  Celso Amo
