May 30, 2001 | 12:00am
President Arroyo will create a transparency commission to rid the government of red tape and graft and corruption.
At a press conference in Malacañang yesterday, Mrs. Arroyo said the commission would be set up after outgoing Finance Secretary Alberto Romulo takes over as executive secretary.
"And we will be having a bigger commission, which includes the anti-graft commission on the government part, and private sector participants in a bigger transparency commission so that both the public sector and the private sector will work on these needs of direct investors," she said.
