Gapos Gordons win anew

OLONGAPO CITY People Power Coalition Mayor Katherine Gordon is headed for a landslide victory in her reelection bid in this city together with her brother-in-law Rep. James Gordon in Zambales first district.
Election returns from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) here showed Mrs. Gordon, wife of Tourism Secretary Richard Gordon, lording it over two of her rivals, with 37,475 votes which comprised 58.3 percent of the number of voters in this city.
Her rivals Edgar Geniza of LDP and Roberto Flores of PnP had 15,529 and 11,285 votes, respectively.
In the first district of Zambales, Mr. Gordon had 31,068 votes, independent candidates Mariano Ridon had 19,226 votes, while Reino Rosete garnered 5,702 votes.
The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) here said congressional candidate Ruben Torres, who was Labor secretary in the Aquino government and executive secretary during the Ramos administration, won in Zambales second district.
Torres, a candidate of the Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC) won over former Gov. Amor Deloso who belongs to a local party and former Rep. Pacita Gonzalez of Lakas-NUCD.
PIA provincial manager Lito Abuan also said that reelectionist Gov. Vicente Magsaysay (Lakas-NUCD) also held a victory motorcade yesterday after votes indicated he won over rivals former Rep. Antonio Diaz and Vice Gov. Cheryl Deloso. Ding Cervantes
