TACLOBAN, Leyte Reelectionist Rep. Alfred Romualdez is expected to prevail in the race for the first congressional district of the province as both young and old Taclobanons pledge their support for his candidacy.
This was the result of several informal surveys conducted by youth groups and senior citizens showing the young Romualdez inching away from his opponents, including a Manila-based broadcast personality.
Seeking his second term, Romualdez vows to continue his numerous infrastructure projects which was one of the most notable achievements of his first term in office.
The patriarchs and matriarchs of old families in Tacloban have thrown in their support for Romualdez reelection bid, fully confident that the young politician who belongs to an old, well-known political clan in the province, would seek to pursue the vision of peaceful and prosperous Leyte handed down to him by his elders.
