Quality secondary education vowed

SAN MATEO, Rizal — Vice Mayor Bartolome Rivera vowed to improve the quality of secondary education in this municipality where he noted the standard of learning and teaching has declined.

Rivera, the Lakas-NUCD mayoralty candidate, said the town’s education officials should focus their attention on math and science subjects to better prepare students for college.

"We are now experiencing a decline in the number of students passing the National Secondary Aptitude Test. To me, this is alarming. We will have more dropouts, and then more problems will follow," he said.
