Dr. Loi Estrada, leading Puwersa ng Masa senatorial candidate, branded as "fabrications and blatant lies" all published reports that former President Joseph Estrada and his family are planning to leave the country.
Speaking before huge Erap-chanting crowds in rallies in Samar and Leyte, the former First Lady said her husband will never ever abandon his people at any time.
She accused the Arroyo government of conditioning the minds of the Filipino people with published announcements that President Estrada had been foiled trying to escape in Cagayan de Oro recently.
Dr. Loi also scored Justice Secretary Hernando Perez for even insinuating that the former Chief Executive, should better plan to escape to another country to avoid prosecution and an eventual jail sentence.
Dr. Estrada said the Arroyo administration committed a grave injustice by naming Perez as justice secretary.
She echoed President Estradas willingness to face his accusers in court, describing her husbands staunch belief in the rule of law. Adding the present regime has turned into a "vindictive, witch-hunting and persecuting government," Dr. Estrada asked the people to repudiate the present dispensation come May 14.
