US professional educators’ exam brought to RP

To help fill the growing demand for school teachers in the United States, US education officials will be in Manila to administer the Functional Academic Skills Test (FAST) to qualified Filipino teacher applicants on April 8 at the Philippine International Convention Center.

Applicants must be a BA or BS degree graduate from any accredited college or university, with a GPA of 2.5 and must have at least two years actual teaching experience. Application forms are available at JS Contractor Inc. at Magallanes Drive, Intramuros, Manila. Forms and other requirements must be submitted by March 8.

Teaching professionals who pass FAST and succeeding interviews with US school district officials will be provided working visas and will then be deployed to grade schools and high schools in starting 2002.
