US to probe illegal entry of aircraft

The United States government gave assurances yesterday that it will investigate the reported illegal entry of an American aircraft into Philippine airspace last December.
Thomas Skipper, press attaché of the US Embassy, said US authorities will "look into the matter as soon as possible."
The Philippine government has filed a diplomatic protest over the overflight of a US Navy P-3 plane in San Fernando City, La Union last Dec. 21.
The Air Force sighted the aircraft, and verified that it had no diplomatic clearance from the Armed Forces of the Philippines to fly over the country’s airspace.  Aurea Calica
