Comelec rules on Namfrel

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will decide today whether to accredit the National Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) or not.
But Commissioner Teresita Dy-Liacco Flores disclosed yesterday that only three of the poll bodys seven commissioners favored the approval of Namfrels accreditation to handle the quick count of votes in the May 14 national and local elections.
Besides Flores, Comelec chairperson Harriet Demetriou and Julio Desamito favored the approval. Those who opposed it were Mehol Sadain, Luzviminda Tancangco, Rufino Javier and Ralph Lantion. Sandy Araneta
