Another son and namesake of Sen. Ramon Revilla has announced his intention to run for mayor of this town.
Ramon Nicolas Revilla Bautista Jr., a son of the senator by the late former Pacita Nicolas, said he will seek the mayorship in the May 14 polls in the hope of emulating the political career of his half-brother, Cavite Gov. Bong Revilla.
He will be up against three other mayoral aspirants  Allens Nagaño, wife of three-termer Mayor Eulinio Nagaño; the mayor’s elder brother, Buddy Nagaño; and board member Pol Interior.
The young Revilla, 46, said he has the blessings of his father.
"I will run under the platform of reform," he told The STAR in the presence of his leaders at his sprawling farm in Barangay Adorable here.
It will be the younger Revilla’s second attempt at local politics. In 1987, he won as barangay chairman, as an independent, of what used to be known as Tambo, which he considers his bailiwick, with a voting population of 3,000.
Tambo, which used to cover three barangays  Adorable, Magpapalayok and Tabuating  was later renamed Adorable.
The young Revilla said he plans to run as an independent. He said nothing is definite yet on whether he will actually decide to join a party or not.
He is a Business Administration graduate, major in Management, from the University of the East.
He is a successful businessman, owning the Jovinz Resort here which he put up in 1996, an eight-hectare mango orchard, the RNB Farm, the RNB Convishop, a piggery and a poultry farm.
